Back in February, Claudio Castagnoli was released from World Wrestling Entertainment after an 11-year stint with the company. During his time in WWE, Castagnoli performed under the name "Cesaro". He was very popular and well-respected by the audience. Many fans strongly consider him as perhaps one of the most underutilized and underrated talents in the company's history.
Before arriving in WWE in 2011, Castagnoli performed for numerous promotions. In his pre-WWE days, Castagnoli had worked for the likes of Ring of Honor, Japan's Pro Wrestling Noah, Combat Zone Wrestling, Chikara, and Pro Wrestling Guerilla. And now...the Swiss Superman is ALL ELITE!
Castagnoli replaced an injured Bryan Danielson in a match against Zack Sabre Jr. at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door. Castagnoli picked up the win. The match was brilliant. Castagnoli simple performed to the best of his true ability. Quite frankly, and quite honestly, Castagnoli was simply being his true self; a terrific performer.
Since Castagnoli's release from WWE, many wrestling fans have flirted with the idea of him going to AEW. How many former WWE talents are now part of AEW? The list is quite...ELITE! There were some rumors that he was headed for AEW. Before Forbidden Door, there was a story indicating that Castagnoli had reportedly been training for his return to wrestling.
Castagnoli looks better than ever. SO LET"S FREAKING GO!
