Jimmy Johnson Will Be Inducted Into Ring of Honor

By Alex Al-Kazzaz

Just before the Hall of Fame Game between the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers, Jerry Jones sat down by Jimmy Johnson and announced that Johnson will be inducted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor. For the longest time, Cowboys fans have waited for this kind of announcement. Honestly, Johnson should already be in it.

This weekend Johnson will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It's unclear when he'll be inducted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor, but it should be in the next ceremony. If Jerry Jones truly intends of reconciling with Johnson and restoring their friendship at 100 percent, the induction ought to be at their next ceremony.

The Cowboys haven't been the same since Johnson departed the team after winning back-to-back Super Bowls. Johnson and Jones had a huge falling out after Jones went to the media and really said something that really was not right to say and quite frankly it was a slap to the face to Johnson. The Cowboys have not recovered from it.

About two weeks ago, Jones finally admitted responsibility and took the blame for nasty falling out. And for Jones to take the blame and announce that Johnson will go to the Ring of Honor, it shows that Jones has decided it's time to make things right. The better part is that Jones decided to personally inform Johnson.

Reconciliation between Jones and Johnson will be great. Burying the hatchet sets both guys free and perhaps it may help the entire organization moving forward. However...Jones still should step down as GM in order for the franchise to have a bit of a brighter future.
