The Los Angeles Rams went into Sunday Night with the opportunity to be in first place in the NFC West. With the Seattle Seahawks beating the Arizona Cardinals Sunday afternoon, both teams became 6-5 on the season and the Rams 5-5 going against the Eagles. Another primetime for the Rams inside SoFi Stadium. Another loss in primetime for the Rams.
Saquon Barkley. Saquon Barkley. And Saquon Barkley.
Saquon Barkley had a career night against the Rams as the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Rams 37-20. Barkley rushed for 255 yards and two touchdowns. Both touchdowns being 70+ yard runs in the second half. After a tightly contested first half with the Eagles leading 13-7 and the first play to being the third quarter, Saquon Barkley 70-yard touchdown run, 20-7 Eagles.
The Rams would answer back as Matthew Stafford connected with Demarcus Robinson for a two-yard touchdown. The was pretty much it for the competitiveness for the game. The Eagles answer back with Kenneth Gainwell with a 13-yard touchdown run and a Jake Elliott field goal from 26 yards out, making it 30-14 Eagles.
The guy who gave the Eagles control of the game, ended the game. Saquon Barkley on third and six from the Eagles' 28-yard line with 2:45 left to play, goes for a 72-yard touchdown run. Capping off a career night with snatching the soul of the Rams in the fourth quarter, Eagles lead 37-14.
The final score ended up being 37-20 as Stafford connected with Cooper Kupp for a 27-yard touchdown and a failed two-point conversion. The Eagles move to 9-2 and continue their winning streak with their seventh straight win. The Rams fall to 5-6 and one game behind both the Cardinals and Seahawks in the NFC West.
Saquon Barkley had 302 total yards from scrimmage, the 255 rushing yards is an Eagles franchise record. Barkley also had four catches for 47 yards. Barkley's two touchdown runs of 70+ is the first time in a single game since 2009 when Maurice Jones-Drew did it for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Barkley now leads the National Football League in rushing with 1,329 yards and has a league-best seven 100-yard rushing games in his first season with the Eagles.
The Philadelphia Eagles improved to 4-0 against the Los Angeles Rams since the Rams moved back to LA from St. Louis.
