It's been a rough season for the Dallas Cowboys. The injuries, inconsistencies, coaching decisions, poor play, etc, have taken a toll on the team and its fanbase. Jerry Jones is the biggest story dating back to the start of the off-season after the disastrous end of the 2023 season for Dallas. But despite all the negativity the Dallas Cowboys had a wonderful Thanksgiving, thanks to a hard-fought 27-20 win over the New York Giants. Even better, Dallas finally got a win at home! What a HAPPY THANKSGIVING for America's Team!
DeMarvion Overshown finally had his moment; tipped a pass, intercepted it, and returned to the house for a touchdown. Weeks ago, he dropped what would have been a game-sealing interception. Although Dallas still won, Overshown vowed to redeem himself. And he finally did. In a spectacular fashion. Overshown and the Dallas defense had a field day. Despite a few mishaps, the Dallas defense showed up, forcing two turnovers and sacking Drew Lock six times.
Rico Dowdle rushed for over 112 yards, scoring one touchdown. Cooper Rush finished 21-for-36 for 195 yards and one touchdown. Kavontae Turpin led the receiving corps with four catches for 53 yards. CeeDee Lamb struggled and dropped several passes. The offense sputtered many times, but the defense managed to make the stops. On one play, Dallas was lucky that a fumble was overturned as it would have surely been costly for the Boyz. Thankfully Rush was down by contact before the ball came out.
Dallas has now won two straight games. This means that Dallas is out of the top ten in next year's NFL Draft. Micah Parsons had a message after Dallas' win on Thanksgiving, in which he was named MVP for the game. Dallas has five games left to play. The NFC East title is out of reach, but is a playoff berth still possible? At this point, one more loss would put an end to that, meaning Dallas needs to win out.
