Three Major Stars Injured In The Same Week?!?!

By Alex Al-Kazzaz

It's devasting to learn the news of when a major wrestling star sustains an injury. And last week, to say that it's been devastating Earlier this week, we learn that CM Punk is injured and requires surgery. And as of today, we learn that Cody Rhodes has suffered a partially torn right pectoral tendon. Cody's injury worsened during weight training. Sadly, CM Punk just became the new AEW champion. And to only make matters worse, Bryan Danielson is hurt as well.

Punk and Cody's injuries are very likely to force them to be out for months. As far as Danielson goes, it's unclear how bad his injury is. For Cody, he still worked the Hell in a Cell PPV match with Seth Rollins. For Punk, AEW will crown an INTERIM AEW champion. Tony Khan announced that CM Punk will face the interim AEW champion in a title unification match once he's able to wrestle again.

It's a shame that such injuries had to happen at such moments. It's sad and unfortunate. AEW's plans for the title while Punk is recovering look very exciting. The possibility of Jon Moxley vs Hiroshi Tanahashi at the Forbidden Door for the interim AEW title is certainly exciting for the fans.

As far as WWE's future plans with Cody go, we'll probably find out when he returns from injury. With Cody defeating Rollins in last night's Hell in a Cell match in Chicago, it's very likely that the Rollins and Cody feud is over. For now, the future for Cody is unknown as he needs to heal from injury.
