Trevor Bauer Suspended For Two Seasons

By Alex Al-Kazzaz

Trevor Bauer has not appeared on the mound since June 28th of last year. A few days later, he was placed on administrative leave pending investigation into allegations involving sexual assault. The investigation was halted due to the 2021-2022 MLB lockout.

Yesterday, the league announced that Bauer is suspended for a total of 324 games. Bauer, 31, has denied the allegations and he intends to appeal his suspension. Bauer has released a statement.

Bauer filed a lawsuit against the woman who made the assault accusations against him. Back in February, the LA country district attorney's office said that Bauer wouldn't be charged. Bauer would then release a statement explaining what supposedly happened:

Bauer signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers in February of last year. The 2020 National League Cy Young Award recipient turned down an offer from the New York Mets in favor of signing a three-year $102 million deal with the Dodgers. Starting 17 games with LA, he posted an 8-5 record with a .259 ERA.

Bauer started his career in 2012 with the Arizona Diamondbacks before going to Cleveland where he played form 2013 to 2019. He would play in Cincinatti from 2019 to 2020. Overall, Bauer holds an 83-69 record with a 3.79 ERA and he has struck over 1,400 batters.

At this point, his future is beyond unclear. The situation involving his appeal and the lawsuits regarding the allegations, the whole situation is mind-boggling. All we can do is wait and see how things turn out.
